Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Penticton Boat Club & Rentals located?

We operate out of both Okanagan Lake (21 Lakeshore Dr W, Penticton Lakeside Resort, Penticton) and Skaha Lake (3895 Lakeside Rd, Skaha Marina, Penticton).

What boats/watercraft can I rent?

Between both rental locations in Penticton we have pontoon boats (10-14 person capacity), surf boats (12-16 person capacity), bowriders (6-8 person capacity) and personal watercrafts (Yamaha & Seadoo, 2-3 person capacity).

Can we take more than the maximum number of people?

No, because customer safety is our number 1 priority.

How many WaveRunners can one group rent at a time?

Two is the maximum for safety purposes. This is firm.

What is the damage deposit/how does it work?

Damage deposits are $1000 per Waverunner and $2500 for any boat.
This provides insurance for the rental agency and ensures coverage against theft and damaged equipment after use. Pre-authorizations completed on credit cards will not charge the card holder; it will simply confirm they possess enough credit and will temporarily put the allotted amount on hold. The deposit will be returned or released at the end of the rental in the event that no damage or theft has occurred.

How old do you have to be to drive?

The minimum age to rent any motorized equipment is 25 YEARS OLD. Anyone who is under 18 years old will need to have a parent or legal guardian sign the rental/liability forms. You must be at least 21 to operate any piece of equipment.

Can I rent a boat for just an hour?

No – our minimum for boat rentals is 2 hours, though WaveRunners can be rented for 1 hour.

Will there be any added costs?

The renter must pay for the fuel they used at the end of the rental. Rental prices do not include tax or water sports gear.

What is your boat club membership?

The 2023 Penticton Boat Club is a boat-sharing program where we maintain a whole separate fleet of boats, exclusively available to its members. The program provides members with unlimited access all season long but at a fraction of the cost of purchasing and owning a boat. You can apply here.
